Why did you first join Toastmaster?<\/em> I was asked to be the MC at a wedding anniversary that was going to be attended by several hundred people and I thought Toastmasters could help me take on this challenging assignment. It worked out well and my MC-ing was a success.<\/span><\/p>\n

What is your favourite part about our Pace Setters Club?<\/em>\u00a0I like to see how our members develop their confidence and poise as they work through the Toastmasters program.<\/span><\/p>\n

What have you learned\/gained from being a part of Toastmasters?<\/em>\u00a0I have gained speaking confidence and also have met many friendly and interesting people.<\/span><\/p>\n

Outside of Toastmasters, how do you spend your time?<\/em>\u00a0I am semi-retired so spend some of my time involved in the engineering business that my wife, Wendy, & I started in 1985. We have 9 grandchildren, so we have spent a lot of time with them as they grow up (3 are in Victora & 3 in Toronto). I like to golf & cycle in the summer and ski in the winter. I have a great love of music and have an iTunes song collection approaching 8000 songs. I love to listen to them and have the house set up so the music is in almost every room. I have done a lot of family video editing work over the past decade and currently, I am scanning old slides dating back to the 1960s. Wendy & I have also done a lot of travel over the years, although this has been halted by COVID-19. We also really enjoy dancing.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

What would you tell someone who\u2019s interested in Toastmasters?<\/em>\u00a0Toastmasters is a great way to build up your confidence and learn how to present yourself before an audience. It can help with anywhere from day-to-day conversations to speaking before both large & small groups. You will meet a lot of positive people in Toastmasters who will help you achieve your goals.<\/span><\/p>\n
