Lights or backgrounds are used to indicate to members and guests when they are getting close to the end of their allotted time for speaking.<\/p>\n<h5><a href=\"https:\/\/calgarypacesetters.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/12\/The-TIMER-Role.pdf\">Timer Form<\/a><\/h5>\n<p><strong>The Chairperson Role<\/strong><br \/>The Chairperson leads the meeting. The main duty of the Chair is to ensure that the meeting runs according to the agenda. Words may be inappropriate interjections, such as and, well, but, so and you know. Sounds may be ah, um or er.<\/p>\n<h5><a href=\"https:\/\/calgarypacesetters.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/12\/AH-Counter-role.pdf\">Ah Counter Form<\/a><\/h5>\n<p><strong>The Grammarian Role<\/strong><br \/>The Grammarian is responsible for introducing the Word of the Day (WOD) to the audience, discussing the use of the language throughout the meeting and offering examples of good grammar and remarkable vocabulary.<\/p>\n<h5><a href=\"https:\/\/calgarypacesetters.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/12\/Grammarian-ROLE.pdf\">Grammarian Form<\/a><\/h5>\n<p><strong>The Toast Role<\/strong><br \/>The Toast role is designed to celebrate someone (supportive members, friendly audience, mentors, family, leaders, etc) or something (friendship, open communication, constructive feedback, diversity of our club, inclusivity, etc).<\/p>\n<h5><a href=\"https:\/\/calgarypacesetters.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/01\/The-Toast-Role.pdf\">Toast Form<\/a><\/h5>\n<p><strong>The Invocation\u00a0 \/ Thought Of The Day Role<br \/><\/strong>The Invocation role is meant to uplift and motivate the audience; to invite participants to set an intention for self-improvement for the meeting.<\/p>\n<h5><a href=\"https:\/\/calgarypacesetters.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/01\/The-INVOCATION-Role.pdf\">Invocation Form<\/a><\/h5>\n<p><strong>The Joke Master<\/strong><br \/>The role of the Joke Master is to find and present a suitable joke to the audience.
